Getting Familiar with Avatars as well as Buddy Icons

Familiar

We all are familiar with the word avatar and its meaning. Avatars are basically used to give a material structure to the users identity so that they can be differentiated. The instant messengers that people use also vary from person to person and place to place. Mostly every forum which has active users provides the users with the options to use avatars as their identities or as a way to present themselves to the other members of the forum or the community.

There is not much difference between forum avatars and buddy icons. The instant messengers used for chatting also provide the users with an option to use an avatar in place of their original display pictures so that users who don’t like to share their own pictures are not let down.

Buddy icons can be uniquely identified and differentiated depending on their dimensions and basic module. A buddy icon can be in a gaming module or on the popular forums that you access on which users need to create an account and need to be identified. They can be identified by their unique avatars.

Also to mention that there are various forums that are open only to a specific group of people or a community. Then you need to get a user name and password for yourself. After that you can become an active member of the forum and whenever you post anything alongside your name your forum avatar is displayed. That’s cool.
